Oceanic irises flickered up waking into reality seeing the blunette’s expression of concern. The pigtailed musician shook her head softly before smilingly sheepishly back at her best friend. “Gomen ne, Kiku-chan. Did you say something?” the Fever girl asked. Kikue batted her long lashes before tilting her head to the side slightly. They were about to get on stage to begin setting up their instruments to the show that would start in fifteen minutes. Fellow bandmate, Delanie Hinote, the fiery bassist of the chick band giggled softly amused that the ravenette of the group completely ignored everything that the diva had just explained to them. “You spaced out again,” the Japanese starlet huffed. She accented her displeasure placing her hands on her hips waiting for Kitty to explain herself. Unfortunately, the femme guitarist didn’t have one to give. Kitty raised her hands up in a playful surrendering gesture not realizing that she ended drifting off to la la land for the hundredth time already this past week. “Are you sure you’re ok? If you have something on your mind, tell us! You know we’ll listen to whatever you have to say.” What was there to tell? Kitty shook her head softly. She walked over to her guitar that was standing on its pedestal before strapping it across her shoulder. “It’s nothing. Come on, we’ve got to do a sound check before they start letting in the audience,” Kitty urged for the other girls. It wasn’t like she could control when she zoned out of reality. Still, she had to admit that she probably was doing a lot of it lately. More so than she usually did~ If her bandmates started to notice it then obviously something must’ve been off. The only trouble that plagued the recesses of her contemplation was that she didn’t know what got her so out of it recently. A sigh escaped her porcelain lips. "She did it again, hime-chan!" Ani cooed. "She's thinking about you-know-who!" The younger musician of the trio strummed an off chord upon hearing the crimson-haired bass-guitar player begin her teasing tangent. Kikue and Ani entered a duet of a melodious giggles watching as Kitty’s face light up. Where the hell did that come from? “Don’t be dumb, Ani,” Kitty huffed trying to save face, “I didn’t even give that idiot a passing thought until you had to bring him up.” “I never said if it was a guy or girl,” a mischievous smile curled up the crimson tuft female, “So you were thinking about your little Romeo, weren’t you? Romeo, oh Romeo, wherefore art thou, Romeo?” A chorus of laughter broke out again. Kitty scowled at her bandmates tempted to snap at how ridiculous they were acting. Weren't they suppose to be tuning up their instruments right about now? Kikue tossed a few strands of her azure locks over her shoulder smiling endearingly to her young guitarist. “Kitty-chan, it’s ok to miss him. Just admit it. For god’s sake, you haven’t seen him in two straight years. I miss that dufas as well as his partner in crime.” That was right. The boys kind of went off their separate ways, only leaving behind their heart-felt goodbyes. Yet neither of them promised they would return so the music crew would be reunited again. Kitty followed Kikue and Delanie into the music industry where the girl band finally got their own music contract. It had been eight long years since the music crew left the prestigious establishment Ouran Academy. Two years earlier, the crew split apart, the girls following their dreams while the boys left. Reasons behind their leave eluded to their fellow musicians. Did that mean Kitty miss him? No. There was nothing there to miss when he left without explaining himself as to why he just disappeared like that. She could still remember the day he said goodbye as if it were yesterday. She was quite upset when the eye-patched redhead suddenly told her that he would be leaving. All he did was smile that wide goofy grin of his. His hands taking hers into his grasp before whispering softly in her ear, “When I come back let’s get married.” It caught her off guard with out sincere his proposition was. Unfortunately, that was one of the oldest tricks in the book Ryu had used in the past to calm her down from blowing a fuse with him. She didn’t know if she could trust his word or not. Years were creeping on by. She was already twenty-five reaching past the prime of her youth. She didn’t have forever to wait for him… that is, if she was waiting on him to begin with. Two long years went by, and she still couldn’t tell if he was serious about it or not. Maybe it was best to just give up those silly thoughts and just move on with her life? They were all adults now. It was time to get past those days back in their adolescence. "Five minutes!" the stage-manager announced to the crew. Kitty took full advantage of call time to begin tuning her guitar dismissing the idle chit-chat the girls were giggling about. They had a show to perform, and she didn’t have time to waste thinking about that stupid boy. So why was it that she couldn’t stop those two-year-old words from echoing inside of her head? we were both young when I first saw you i close my eyes and the flashback starts i'm standing there on a balcony in summer air The show had everybody up out of the seats crying out for an encore performance. Kikue and Delanie were jumping up and down exuberantly over how wild the crowd was going from their last song of the night. The former musical hostess couldn’t help but smile over the teamwork they pulled off. All of those smiling faces cheering for their performance. They were finally the stars they wanted to be. So why did it all feel so half-hearted? Kitty slipped her guitar off of her shoulder placing it lovingly back on its pedestal before heading off stage. “Kitty-chan! We’re going to celebrate tonight’s show. Where are you going?” Kikue asked. “I’m going to go grab my tuner from the dressing room.” It was a lie. Without saying another word, the ravenette left the stage, traveling through backstage until she found the exit. Instead of going out the way where the dressing rooms were, she walked in the opposite direction, finding double doors to exit out of the building they had their show at. It was a lavishly elaborate arena where most concerts and special games were held in. so i sneak out to the garden to see you we keep quiet 'cause we're dead if they knew so close your eyes; escape this town for a little while The sound of the rustling fountain nestled within the center of the garden was a soothing rhythm to the guitarist’s ears. Silver streams of moonlight illuminated the soft petals that slumbered through the evening. Yet the sweet fragrance of their floral form’s permeated the air like a gentle perfume. Kitty pulled out her cell phone scrolling through her pictures that she took over the years. She stopped dead in her tracks over one picture that lit up her oceanic eyes. Her mouth left open surprise that she actually still had that photo. The one of him and her together. He was laughing wearing that tireless cheerful smile while she was glaring daggers trying to get out of his embrace. Nevi was the one who took this picture she recalled. Thinking back to the joke he cracked back then it was only now that she started laughing about it. She couldn’t believe how straight-laced she was back then. Years after high school had opened up new doors for the former musical-type. Alas the negative part about changing was the fact that as she got older she had to depart from many friends. Their lives taking them to other parts of Japan, other countries, or even to other places across the world. Then he left her just like the rest of her friends back in high school. It was all apart of growing up, right? 'cause you were romeo, I was a scarlet letter and my daddy said, "stay away from juliet" but you were everything to me, i was begging you, "please don't go" Kitty stared down at the pools of the fountain’s water. The faint image of her reflection staring back at her from the surface. As if at any moment her own image would start talking to her. The little voice in the back of her head would talk to her about the things she didn’t want to think about. What if you didn’t want him to leave? What if you wanted him to stay with you? Why didn’t you say so before he walked away? She clenched her teeth tensing the muscles within her jaws. She flipped her phone closing it up before pocketing it. It was too late for what if’s. Two years too late. The dumbass wasn’t going to come back so what was the point in waiting for him? He was never there. Not once was he ever there for her. She didn’t even know why she held onto such an empty promise. Ryu was known to make so many of them. For some unfathomable reason she actually believed in this one out of all the over exaggerated tales of grandeur he promised her. She really did must’ve lost her mind somewhere down the road. “This is the end!” she screamed. Her voice echoing out in the air as her voice strained to express all of the pent up emotions she kept bottled up until that very moment. Bright blue eyes turned glossy with tears tempted to fall from her perfectly make-up’d face. “I’m tired of waiting for you, Ryu! A good chunk of my life wasted hoping you would come around. Even when you were here – you weren’t here for me! Go on doing whatever the hell you want, but it’s time that I get what I want!” She took a deep breath finally letting reality to sink back in. God, she must’ve looked like a fool screaming to herself like that. Trickles of tears started shimmering across her cheeks. Her face flushing a gentle pink. It wasn’t like he was going to hear everything she just vented out in the air. The hell with the rest of the night... Kitty turned her back from the garden. Now that she got that off of her chest she supposed it was time to get back with her band mates. She didn't want to miss out on the after show party. She would have to clean up her face so nobody would recognize she started to cry. Just as she was about to leave the gardens she heard a rustle coming from the bushes. She sucked in a breath of air not realizing what it was. Kitty nearly jumped as she noticed a figure clouded in the darkness. Who was that? A laugh pierced the silence. "I don't want you to wait either." A gasp escaped from her lips. Her hands trembled as she listened to the grass crunch beneath the feet of the carrier of that voice silhouetted from her view. He stepped out of the shadows and into the moonlight. His crimson tufts the single most prominent trait she recognized right off the bat. A single emerald green orb filled with light that could rival the sun stared back into her oceanic blue hues. An eye-patch remained on his other. That signature smile of his pursed in his lips as he waved playfully back at the feminine guitarist. “See? You don’t have to.” There he stood right in front of the fountain. Kitty was left speechless. He was there. One step. Then another… and then another. Until her whole body went into auto-pilot sprinting as fast as she could. As she neared the former audio/visual club member, she took the leap tackling him. What she didn’t expect that he lose his balance in the process and soon enough the two of them plummeted backwards straight into the cold waters of the marble fountain. "Baka! Baka! BAAAAAKAAAAA!" She tried pounding against his chest as hard as she could, but she was far too overwhelmed that her fists felt like patted whacks with a pillow. Ryu tried his best not to laugh but his eternal smile remained. Kitty let out a sneeze realizing that she was drenched and freezing now. She inched away to pick herself up out of the fountain. Before she was able to get out though the redheaded male grabbed her by the hand. His lone green eye looking back into hers. “Kitty Sherrilyn Fever, as I promised, I came back for you.” he explained. He shifted his position so that he was kneeling down one knee before the ravenette. “Will you marry me?” romeo, take me somewhere we can be alone i'll be waiting; all that's left to do is run you'll be the prince and i'll be the princess it's a love story, baby, just say, "yes" Did he just– Oh, for the love of Batman! She had to resist the urge to scream. That didn’t stop her from doing so in the back of her mind. Could’ve sworn that if anybody heard how deafening her piercing voice got they would’ve said she must’ve cracked a mirror or two. She hiccuped a sob softly. Her chilly arms wrapped around the male in a tight embrace crashing her lips against his. She shared a cold kiss but in her heart it was the warmest it’s ever felt. "Need you ask? Yes. Of course, you idiot!” Ryu laughed. It was really good to hear his voice again. Been far too long. Or at least it had been for the Fever girl. She watched as he fumbled through his pockets. The seconds ebbed by before a brow arched up. Soon enough she noticed his expression slowly changing from happy to concern. “What your problem?” she finally asked, “Did you like forget the ring or something?” “Worse, I think I dropped in the fountain!” tagged Ryu Mori & Kitty Fever (& Music Crew cameo) notes This turned out longer than I planned for it to be. Is this happy enough for you guys? |D[/style] |
