❝ an ouran murder story, ❞ [STYLE=border-top: 3px solid #9D7D53; font-size: 10px; font-family: arial; width: 340px; text-align: justify; background-color: #F8F4EF; padding: 15px; color: #2B1B06; margin-top: -5px; margin-bottom: 15px; border-radius: 20px; border-top-left-radius: 0px; ]so i started on this a loooong time ago; it was meant for a school writing assignment thing for science class, where i had to focus on some sort of fictional story about people who are investigating a murder crime and explain how they figured out the suspect by examining whatever substances were left on the scene of the crime. that kinda scientific shit, idk. naturally, i incorporated fye characters into the story; i never got it done, obviously - mainly because i kept going on and on and writing so much more than what was necessary, which resulted in me not finishing on time (i started the night before it was due in typical kiwii fashion, lululul). but even after that, i continued working on it, 'cause vy and wolfie and ari and some other people insisted that i should, though even now, i have yet to finish it... idk when i'll get muse for it again, but still. i remembered just recently that i haven't put it up onto the fansite for you poor souls to read (i, personally, would encourage that you don't bother with this monstrosity D<). SO HERE IT ISSSSS. might i remind you that the last time i worked on it was, i think, the very night that i started on it. |D and that was quite a while ago. I-IDK, if people bug me enough about it like maya was doing not too long ago, maybe i'll continue writing. w/e though for now. BU!![/style]

Unlike your average cliché, where such a thing would take place in a dark and gloomy setting, this particularly tragic event took place on the brightest of days. No one was to suspect that there was any reason to be overcome with grief, much like those that were involved, or those related to people who were involved in some way. One might say it was for the best. So long as the horrific murder was kept under wraps, the detectives had time to come up with answers. When all was settled and punishments were properly executed to whoever was to blame for said tragedy, it was then that they could announce it to the public. Surely people would cope better, knowing that justice had been served. Until then, however, they had many answers to decipher. . .
"And so little time," came the voice of one detective, whose tone and words did express his doubt, and very clearly. For that, he received an elbow to the stomach from his partner, and he winced at the sudden contact. Bringing one hand up to rub at the spot, he threw a questioning glare to the brunette at his side. The female returned the look, though with more hostility flaring in the depths of those dark brown orbs of hers. "Stop sounding so doubtful, Tsukami," she scolded him, then turned forward once more. He watched her, allowing the distaste in his expression to mellow down in little less than an instant, and in the blink of an eye, his typical apathetic stare took the place of what had once been a look of irritation.
"If you were truly as smart as you claim to be," the girl, who typically went by the name 'Kurosu Lilith', had muttered, "you'd know that we don't have time for your stupid doubtfulness." |
Saying that, she had whirled around to glare at him, yet again, and this time had thrust her finger forward to jab it at his chest once or twice, for emphasis. Her partner, a confident and rather mysterious Tsukami Yoite, proved himself to be rather unaffected by this, and ever so smoothly did he bring an arm up to brush her finger away with an unimpressed sigh. Lil narrowed her eyes up at him, returning the hand back to rest it on her hip. "If I didn't know better," the male began as his response, "I'd say you're quite eager to avenge the murder of Hanami." To that, Lilith gave a sneer. "As if!" That had been their task -- their job, in fact. While they would continue to deny any desire to go on with it for any longer than a necessary amount of time, they knew that, had they chosen to end their commitment to the current task at hand, there would be much consequence on their part: Disapproval from people all around- but more importantly, there would surely be a dent in their pride. Knowing that they let a single investigatory case pass them by and be handed to the next group would kill them. After all, they had always been the competitive types. To put things simply, this all was seen as nothing but a challenge to them; even just a game, perhaps. Tch, how cruel. But such is life. . . However, the sake of their ego had not been the only thing that kept them on track. They obliged to any investigation or responsibility given to them simply because if they hadn't, that would certainly threaten their roles as detectives. And the story behind that? Well, Yoite, along with the ill-tempered Kurosu girl, had both registered long ago to become a part of some sort of crime-scene investigation organization. Reasons as to why they chose to take on such a role and accept its many responsibilities weren't exactly made clear by them, and since then, the only clue that people had was that they needed a part-time job at the time. Somewhere down the line, they both ended up with internships of their own as a part of said organization. Somewhere further down that line, they became partners in solving the numerous mysteries that went on around the town. It was ironic, seeing as they were always so open for their hatred towards one another, and yet, here they were: joined together once again by the call of evil. And yes, that was meant to sound corny. "Hanami Akiyama, a first year student in high school at Ouran Academy, class B." Yoite read straight from the murder victim's folder, in order to help himself and his partner to get a better idea of their case. However, neither of them needed some stupid folder to tell them about the girl. Everyone around the school had heard about her -- including the two of them. See, they attended the high school themselves, being of the same class and in their third year. That was why their 'mentors' had trusted them with this particular case, but to their dismay, they trusted another group with the same case as well. With that second pairing came a source of motivation for both Yoite and Lil, driven by a sense of rivalry with said group investigating the very same crime. Lil huffed, tearing her eyes away from the contents of the folder and folded her arms over her chest. "Put that down, Tsukami," she ordered him. Yoite's focus, however, had remained on all the listed bits of information, and never did he move to do as Lilith told him. "I know you think you don't need any of this information to do your job," he began as his one eye that wasn't hidden by the eyepatch ran itself across one partivular page of text, "but perhaps you don't know as much as you say you do." Rolling her eyes, Lilith stalked over to one side of the small office room and then turned back to him. "What're you implying?" she snapped at him, defensively. She didn't know whether she should deny the fact that she didn't really know much about the girl, especially since she wasn't too fond of the Akiyama girl herself. The one-eyed male rose from his seat by lowering the papers onto the table once more and pressing against the desk's surface to support himself. Standing upright, he guided the chair backwards with the shifting position of his legs. "Nothing," came his vague reply, to which his partner had scoffed. Yoite then informed her, "I'll be taking these files along with us though." Hearing that, Lil's eyes suddenly lit up with interest. "Taking them with us, you say?" she practically echoed him. He nodded, and one corner of her mouth twitched. "...Where?" she asked. "I'm bringing them to-" "To the interrogation room?" Lil pressed, interrupting him before he could even finish. She sure as hell did look thrilled now. With much reluctance, the dark-haired Tsukami had nodded once more, a gesture that was followed by one of a fist pump on Lilith's side of the table. "Yesss, my favorite part!" "Yeah, I know." "Eh? You know?" Lil grunted, dragging her eyes downward to meet his own, rather annoyed by this reply. He rolled his eyes at her, "Well, you don't hide it very well - the fact that you love intimidating those poor eye witnesses and suspects to the point that they piss their pants, that is." Instead of the typical shouting and hissing that came of any common provocation done by Yoite himself, Lilith snickered darkly. "I do love doing that," she complied. "Yeah... I know," Yoite said.[/style][STYLE=float: left; margin-bottom: -18px; margin-left: -18px;] [/style][STYLE=font-family: arial; font-size: 11px; margin-left: 235px; margin-right: 18px; margin-top: 20px; color: #5D4832; text-align: left; line-height: 10px;] feat. kurosu lilith, tsukami yoite notes. the most boring chapter. .___.[/style]

[STYLE=width: 400px; text-align: right; font-size: 8px; color: #5D4832; text-transform: uppercase; margin-top: -4px; margin-bottom: 10px;]made by kiwii at btn![/style]

He couldn't say he was as excited about this next part of their job as Lil was, mainly because of the way the female often handled it. You could say it was... a little short of meeting the standards of what any normal person might consider humane. Letting out an unanticipating sigh, he gripped the same folder from before beneath one arm and continued down the hall towards their assigned room where they ought to find a large group of students and perhaps a few teachers, all of which being those that they suspected of murdering Hanami at around 11 a.m. the previous morning. If they hadn't been suspected criminals, they were people that they assumed they might get information from, due to their relations to the victim. Of course, this group had been separated from the rest, for safety rights.
As Lilith marched alongside her partner, she wore a wide smirk across her face. "And my shovel is prepared, right?" |
she asked the male with a glance over her shoulder at him. Seeing him nod, she listened as he replied, "It's there. Sitting up against a wall in one corner of the room, just as it always is, every time we come in there." "Good, good!" she exclaimed. "I certainly couldn't do my job without it!" Yoite rolled his eye at her, then proceeded down the narrow expanse of space that formed the hallway. Soon enough, they emerged from the hallway and into a wider area in the building. Bordering the room were chairs at which the suspected murderers sat, and at two corners of the room were police officers, ready to guard the two detectives if one ever chose to leap out and attack them. However, they hadn't been the only people in the room, and as Lilith and Yoite stepped into the open space, they caught sight of two females dressed in the very same attire as them. And they made their displeasure of seeing the two standing there very evident. "What are y-" "What in God's name are you two doing here?!" Lilith cut into Yoite's question, finding the way he said it to be completely wrong. He had to add a thousand times more resent! More hatred! These two had been their rivals for who knows how long! You don't address your rivals with anything less than pure, firey hatred! All of that had supposedly been made clear in Lil's tone of voice, and as expected, the twin-tailed girl on the right among the opposing two had reacted with much more enthusiasm but just as much hatred. "Watching you two fail miserably on this case, and being here to pick up where you two left off - haaa!" the girl, Toshiko, had said. Lilith snarled at her, not awaiting any further response from the second girl. Emile hadn't appeared to be paying much attention to her at the moment anyway, and from what you could easily tell by the girl's furious glaring at Yoite, she was trying her damn near hardest to resist throwing her shoe at his face. That had always been their distasteful form of greeting to one another - violence in the manner of throwing things at each other - but no, not here. They had to behave as professionally as they could! They would do it! "Hey ugly," Emi called out to the one-eyed detective, her eyes narrowed with her lips pursed. "Have you two caught a leeead yet? Eh? Eh?" A smirk widened its way across her face as she prodded at him. Yoite didn't flinch, but yet inside he was fuming. What, so these two idiots had found a lead on the suspect then? Impossible! And he and Lil had barely even begun their suspect analysis?! "I'm afraid not," he answered smoothly, and Emi burst out laughing. Lilith and Toshiko broke away from the intense glaring at one another to look at Emile, whose bright orange hair bounced with every chuckle she gave. "What's so funny?" Lil snapped, and almost immediately, the girl halted her laughter. "Well I'll have you know that weeee have got a lead! And you two don't! Hah!" With that, Toshiko let out a giggle or two as well, while Lilith stared at them in disbelief. "You two?" she said, not believing what she'd just heard. "...Bullcrap! No freaking way!" "Yes way~" Toshiko countered, a prideful smirk visible among her own features as well. "I doubt it!" Lil shouted at them, still incredibly unconvinced. Then she crossed her arms and spoke again, challengingly, "Who is it then?" The two female partners exchanged a glance with one another and nodded, then looked to the other two once more. "Oh, but I'm sure you two know~" Emi taunted, and both Lil and Yoite this time had arched a brow. "Not exactly, as I had just told you," Yoite answered back, flatly, and Emi rolled her eyes. "You're not fooling anybody, idiots!" Toshiko hissed out. "Fooling anybody? Idiots?" Lil echoed. "What is that supposed to mean?" In perfect sync with one another, Toshiko and Emile's arms flung forward to point accusingly at the both of their rivals and shouted at them, "Murderers!!"Yoite and Lilith stood, dumbfounded, on the receiving ends of the two ladies' pointing fingers. Either of the two were speechless, not knowing really what to say. Were they really being accused of this murder? Of being the prime suspects in the case that they were putting forth so much effort to solve? Were Emi and Toshiko really that dumb? Or was it simply because they hated each other so much that they would have found it so damn funny for them to be seen as the murderers? "...How stupid can two people really be?" Lilith questioned, fists finally forming at either side of her. With a sneer, Toshiko tossed her head defiantly. "Don't think you can fool us! You two are BAD. PEOPLE." Naturally, this only caused Lil to want to punch her in the face ten times more than usual. This couldn't be good. "Why I oughtta- LET ME AT 'EM!" Lilith screamed, leaping forward only to be quickly restrained by the arms of Yoite closing around her waist. Toshiko and Emi had lunged for her at the same instant, but had been held back by two of the officers who had been observing from separate corners of the room. All around them, the impatient students and teachers who had been suspected of the crime were watching them, appearing either very disappointed or very amused at the scene. It really was quite funny, for all of them to be accused of a murder that the majority of them hadn't even participated in, only to end up witnessing several death threats be implied in the duration of one hateful conversation between four detectives. Oh, the irony... "Let's go, Cavewoman," Yoite said, answering to her kicking and screaming by turning to drag her through the doorway of the interrogation room. He nodded to the two officers before hauling the brunette into the room and shutting the door behind them. With that single nod, the guards dismissed Emile and Toshiko, guiding them down the hallway and therefore out of the other pair's business for the time being.[/style][STYLE=float: left; margin-bottom: -18px; margin-left: -18px;] [/style][STYLE=font-family: arial; font-size: 11px; margin-left: 235px; margin-right: 18px; margin-top: 20px; color: #5D4832; text-align: left; line-height: 10px;] feat. kurosu lilith, tsukami yoite, roux emile, yuzuru toshiko notes. lol i suck at playing other peoples' characters.[/style]

[STYLE=width: 400px; text-align: right; font-size: 8px; color: #5D4832; text-transform: uppercase; margin-top: -4px; margin-bottom: 10px;]made by kiwii at btn![/style]

Again he read from a file, announcing to he and his partner the first suspect that they were to examine. Yoite lowered the sheet of paper on to the table and lifted his apathetic gaze upward to meet that of the petite, brown-haired girl. Despite her small size and babyish features, the female displayed to them quite the hostile stare, one that challenged the two of them to ask them a question, whatever it may be. Yoite himself refused to believe that Hinata, whom he had known for a majority of his life since childhood, was responsible for such a crime as murder. However, he wouldn't let that friendship he had with the girl allow his ability to perform his job falter in any way. He was confident that she was not the murderer, so there wasn't much to worry about in questioning the girl. Lilith, on the other hand, was on high alert. Just as Yoite had got done asking the first question, Lilith slammed her hands down onto the table and got all up in the girl's face. "Where were you at the time of Akiyama Hanami's death - in the time period of 11 o'clock to 11:47 a.m. of yesterday morning?!" she demanded, basically repeating all of what Yoite had just asked her, only in a more aggressive and demanding way. "And DON'T you lie to me!" she added. "I'm well aware of your lack of appreciation for that little Hanami girl! I've got a shovel! And a pack of flesh-craving hounds ready to tear your lying head off at any given moment! They're circling the area behind you- DON'T LOOK!" Of course, the last part had been said only to frighten the girl, and hadn't really been true. Hinata turned in her seat to stare at an empty space in front of the doorway, despite being ordered not to, her eyes reflecting nothing but an unimpressed look. By the time Hinata had turned back to them, Lilith had readied her shovel and slammed its metallic end against the tabletop, creating a loud clanging noise, at which the suspect had jumped in surprise. "YOU LOOKED!" Lilith shouted, and Hinata stared up at her like she was insane. "What the hell is wrong with you?!" she yelled, obviously very on edge now that she had gotten an good idea on what the experience would be like with the female detective accompanying them. "YOU DON'T ASK THE QUESTIONS HERE-" Lil began, only to be cut off by Yoite, who had by now slid his hand down from where it'd had been pressed against his forehead in irritation. "Cavewoman!" he snapped, looking to Lilith with obvious displeasure. Narrowing her eyes down at him where he sat in his seat across the table from the other female, she pursed her lips. "Hmph," she replied, then finally removed her 'weapon' from where it lay across the tabletop. She supposed it was now his turn to continue on with what he had been asking of the girl, now that Lil had scared some sense into her! Watching his partner finally retreat a couple steps back from the table to begin pacing slowly back and forth behind him, Yoite returned his eye to his childhood friend. "Now, Hinata, we don't ask much of you." He spoke much more calmly than the other detective. "The questions will be straight-forward, so there's no reason for you to declare a lack of understanding on your part. As simple as things may seem, the answers you give us now will help us a lot in this investigation. Understood?" His approach had been delicate, but yet, very strict. Lil had heard him utter the same words in past visits to the interrogation room during their entire career together, and so she seemed to be paying less attention to him than to the girl seated across from him. Hinata nodded to him, a short condident nod. With this, she confirmed to them that she knew the reason as to why she was here. Taking a deep breath to calm herself from the previous interaction she had had with Lilith, Hinata eyed the male in front of her. "I was in the library, returning a book, at one point," she told them. Lil's following interjection - "Likely story!" - was one she had even braced herself for. Yoite silenced the other detective with a raised hand, and he looked ahead at the girl once more, urging her to go on with simply that look of interest in his eye. "Right..." Hinata glanced away from them for a small moment, then looked up again. "I remember hearing screaming - cut short so quickly that I was so sure it was nothing." Hearing Lilith give a mocking sneer, Hinata shot up another glare at her. "It's true! It's not like I knew to suspect anything other than two friends goofing off in a nearby restroom!" Yoite lay a hand on the desk in front of them, intending to get her attention then. "Wait, so the scream came from the restroom?" he asked. "Near the school library?" Hinata nodded, and with that, he exchanged a glance with his partner. They were getting somewhere already.[/style][STYLE=float: left; margin-bottom: -18px; margin-left: -18px;] [/style][STYLE=font-family: arial; font-size: 11px; margin-left: 235px; margin-right: 18px; margin-top: 20px; color: #5D4832; text-align: left; line-height: 10px;] feat. kurosu lilith, tsukami yoite, kaito hinata notes. lalala.[/style]

[STYLE=width: 400px; text-align: right; font-size: 8px; color: #5D4832; text-transform: uppercase; margin-top: -4px; margin-bottom: 10px;]made by kiwii at btn![/style]

Despite this similarity in their expressions, and despite them having much more in common than simply that, a notable thing they shared was their claimed hatred for one another. In fact, no one in the room was very fond of the others at all. They all despised each other, but yet somehow, the two detectives found it most necessary for this certain suspect to be present with them. "Listen here, you green-haired little snake," |
Lilith hissed into his ear from where she stood behind his chair. "We both know you killed that girl. The- The... Oh, c'mon, what was her name?" "Akiyama Hanami," Yoite replied from where he sat, across the table from the suspect once again, rubbing at his temples with both hands. "Yeah! Hanami!" Lil exclaimed, then resumed her harsh whispering into the second male's ear. "We know you killed her, don't you dare deny it." Judging by the look Shinkuto had been giving without even sparing a glance in Lilith's direction, he found this entire thing to be just as ridiculous as Yoite had. Yoite knew the guy had quite a few evil and sadistic intentions somewhere deep within him, but Shinkuto wouldn't be the murderer of such a useless girl such as Hanami. He doubted Shinkuto knew a thing about the girl at all even! Aside from the fact that she was now dead, that is. "Kurosu, I would appreciate you respecting my area of personal space," the male spoke up, directing his words to the female who stood close at one side of him. The girl snorted. "Hah! See! He didn't even deny it! GUILTY!" she declared pridefully, only to watch the two boys begin shaking their heads. At this point, it really was getting pathetic. Lil didn't see it. "What?" she asked. "The Devil didn't do it, idiot," Yoite replied with his known nickname for the Nakamura boy - "The Devil" - and got an eyeroll in return. "And your proof?" Lilith demanded. Yoite's eye lowered to Shinkuto once again and met his gaze. "Do tell us your story," he insisted dryly. Shinkuto blinked. As he opened his mouth to reply, Lilith's voice hissing at him from close behind interrupted him another time. "You're a liar," it said. "You're a guilty little demon seed, admit it." "Cavewoman," Yoite spoke, in an attempt to seize her foolish behavior, but such action went without acknowledgement. "I know where you live," Lilith pressed, in means of simply intimidating the male somehow, while all Shinkuto could do in response was furrow his brow in discomfort. "I watch you sleep-" Before she could go on, Yoite stated her pet name of 'Cavewoman' once more, but this time with more authority in his tone. Immediately, Lilith drew back in mild alarm, a look of sudden annoyance on her face. "What is it-?!" "Cut that out," Yoite instructed, his voice stern at last. Lilith narrowed her eyes at him, but remained at a distance from either of them. She began pacing again. "Now," Yoite said, addressing their suspect once again, "where were you at the time of the murder?" Shinkuto arched a brow. "Which was..?" he asked. Instantaneously, Lilith arrived at another side of the table, slamming her hands down on the surface of it and piercing her gaze into the green-headedness of their suspect. "Like you don't know!" she burst. Again, Yoite's forehead met his palm. "11 o'clock until noon - where were you?" she demanded. Shinkuto held her gaze steadily for a long moment. "I believe I'd been in class," he stated. "Is that so, Mr. President?" Lilith asked him in return. "Because if I'm correct, you'd been reportedly in the student council room at that time." A smirk widened across her features for a moment, making her look as though she now knew him to be the murderer. All Shinkuto did was offer her a blank stare. "What difference does it make?" he asked. Lilith's smirked grew wider for a second or two before it abruptly fell and was replaced with a dull expression. "Yeah, I don't know where I was going with that," she said bluntly. Yoite rolled his eye. "I told you it wasn't him. And there's your proof, Cavewoman," he told her, and Lilith grimaced. "Quit calling me that," she growled out through clenched teeth. Then she thrashed her head side to side in frustration. "Well then who else do you suspect killed the girl? We don't got all day!" She brought back one foot and kicked at one of the legs of the suspect's chair. "Go on now! Git! Be gone!" Lil shouted, clearly impatient. The short-light-haired girl smiled cutely, a look that came off as suspicious right away, seeing as it contrasted the many other defensive and/or grief-stricken expressions given by the other subjects of interrogation thus far. Yoite arched a brow at the female, noting her seemingly care-free exterior. Suspicious indeed... Although, maybe a bit too suspicious. He shrugged, then leaned forward in his seat to address her. "So where were you at the time of Hanami's murder?" he asked calmly. By now, after having dealt with so many suspects already, Lil had declared herself rather exhausted, but only because the people she worked with were "mindless bird-for-brains", or whatever it was she had spouted out in a mixture of sensible words and pure jibberish during her temperamental breakdown a few sessions prior to their current. She was leaned far back in her chair, pulling the end of her shovel back and forth out to one side while the opposite end of it dragged endlessly along the tile floor. She stared up at the ceiling with a look of boredom. It was at that point where Yoite was left to do the work while Lil awaited a chance to insert a cry of "GUILTY!"Ai looked to Yoite with that same innocent look, then allowed her smile to fade for a moment. "Hnn~? Oh, well, I do recall I had been in class," she answered him. "Yes. If it helps you any, I remember Hanami dismissing herself from the room to go to the restroom sometime during the period. I don't believe she returned that day..." As she trailed off, the smile gradually returned to its spot on her face, and Yoite narrowed his eyes at her. "Yeah, yeah. Little girl gets killed in the bathroom by the library, we know that already," moaned Lilith as she proceeded to glare up at the ceiling. Ai blinked. "Oh, you do?" she asked, then waved her hand back and forth a couple times, her smile seemingly apologetic this time. "My bad then~" Yoite straightened up in his chair, arranging the papers that were spread across the table as his voice sounded again, "You seem rather happy for a girl whose classmate just got murdered on a school day you were present at." Ai shook her head. "Happy? No, no," she insisted, and ever so slowly did her bright and cheery tone in her voice go down. Her eyes lowered as well when she went on, "It is quite tragic indeed... I tell myself not to think too hard on the matter. Otherwise, I just might begin... b-begin to cry." The two detective heard sniffing noises coming from the small female, and immediately Lilith rolled her eyes. "Awh crap," she muttered, leaning forward in her chair finally to stare at the girl. "Oi, cut it with the waterworks, alright?" With that, Ai's face immediately brightened again, to display that cheerful and happy smile once more. There were no stains on her face to indicate any traces of tears, Yoite noticed. "Seeing as you two certainly would not want me to cry, I will go on like this!" she stated to them, and either of the investigators glanced at each other and back to the girl.
