[atrb=width,400,true][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true] REMEMBER ME Nakamura Hideki & Kurosu Lilith 1,679, Slice of Life, AU, Angst, PG SUMMARY: A fated meeting between two people, one left with nothing while the other left with everything. Both want an escape. Both want something to hold on. It is here out on an out-of-the-way sea-side village that brings the two of them together, while time continues on. -------- "Mentally unstable my ass." Lilith muttered as she kicked the chair aside and fell gracefully on top of her bed. It wasn't her fault- well it partially was, but that wasn't the point- that she was in this situation. Even if she did punch the guy and said some pretty vulgar words to him, that didn't mean she had to get expelled and then sent to some relatives who lived some place right up against the ocean where she could "think over her actions and cleanse herself of sins". "This is just a bunch of bullshit." She complained to no one in particular as she slammed her hand against the soft mattress of the bed. "There's nothing to fucking do here!" She shouted out in frustration as she rolled over on to her stomach and kicked her legs against the bed. Being a city girl, Lilith was used to bustling streets with the sound of conversation wherever she went, and there was never a time where she was completely "alone". But now, in this far off village at the seaside, there was no one. She knew none of the people here, but it wasn't as if there were a lot of villagers anyways. It was just a few people who spent their days here on vacation or worked in the fishing business. Other than that, there was no one who walked the streets during the day. It was like no one was here in the first place. "I hate this!" A pillow was thrown, but a few seconds, the sound of footsteps approached her "room", but with the aura of annoyance surrounding it. "Lilith, for goodness sake, just get out and do something! Go to the beach or just go on a walk! I don't want to hear anymore of your whining!" Well it's not like I want to be here in the first place. But as much as Lilith wanted to deny it, she did want to go out and wander. The reason why she hadn't before was simply because she knew her aunt and uncle would assume that she was growing soft and actually trying to fit into a new atmosphere. Like hell that would happen though. After waiting for the sound of her aunt's footsteps to disappear, Lilith sat up, jumped off, and went to peek out her door to make sure no one would see her going out. Silently making her way through the halls, Lilith managed to get to the front door, and it was only after she softly closed the door behind her did she appreciate the fresh smell and touch of the sea breeze against her face. Even though it wasn't the type of air she was used to, it was very refreshing, and it rejuvenated her from her previous annoyance. It was a drag to stay in that house with no one to talk with or nothing to do, but at the same time, going out would only mean she was trying to socialize or make friends. Now she could properly explore the village, even though she was sure there wouldn't be much to see anyways. Not that it mattered to her because she was free. -------- "You know, I don't get you. Why are you here if you're not going to do anything?" Hideki just let out a resigned sigh in response. It was true. Coming here was just an on-the-whim thought that he decided to take action upon ever since everything just came toppling over him these past few weeks. "S-sorry. I just thought it would be the best way to get away from all of that chaos back home..." It had happened so quickly and Hideki had no idea what to do with his life now. His parents had suddenly made him heir to the company and expected him to learn the ways of business when he had not even finished high school yet! "Whatever." Hideki immediately felt bad for his cousin, Chase, who he had ended up crashing with when he realized that he had no where to stay after "running" away from home. Although, in Hideki’s mind, it wasn't exactly considered running away. After all, he did tell his parents that would be spending the time with a close friend or a relative, even if he didn’t specify where. He just needed this time away from his family to think about what to do with his life because at this moment, he was completely overwhelmed. "S-s-sorry..." "Hey, stop apologizing will you? How about we go drive downtown and try to pick up some girls, eh?" But one look at Hideki's face of disbelief, Chase doubled over in laughter. "You don't have to be so serious! I was kidding. But seriously. Get out of the place more. You've been here for like, what, two days? And you've barely went out!" Most of it was true, but the problem was, Hideki had no idea where he could go. He was quite unfamiliar with the rural atmosphere of this sea-side village, and he wasn't sure if he was confident enough to go wandering about on his own. What if he got lost? Or even worse, kidnapped? He had heard several stories about people being taken at under-populated places like these, and Hideki did not want to take his chances. It was only until his cousin painfully prodded him on his forehead did Hideki snap out of his thoughts. "You're doing that again." Chase said with an unapproved tone. "You're over-thinking things. And don't you dare say sorry again! Since you are under my house rules now, I say go out to the beach! It's nice out, and besides, I don't care for how long, just don't come back until at least a half an hour!" Hideki could only look at his cousin in shock as he stood rooted to his place until his cousin let out an irritated sigh and ended up pushing Hideki towards the door. "Go on, out, out! You need this, and you can thank me later." And soon enough, Hideki heard the door behind him close as he was left to look at an empty street. I can't believe he actually kicked me out... -------- To Hideki's great relief, he was able to find the beach without that much trouble- even if he took a few wrong turns here and there. He could now understand why Chase wanted him to go to the place. At this time of day, the way the sun's setting rays hit the water gave off a feeling of home and freedom, and it lifted Hideki's feelings of stress off his shoulders. But as he continued to take in the beautiful scenery around him, Hideki noticed that he was not the only one at this beach. Out on the edge of the waters, there seemed to be what he saw as a young girl playing along the waves, and Hideki couldn't help but smile. She seemed so care-free and just- happy. Hideki just stood there in his tracks as he continued to watch the young girl. Her long hair flew against the wind, and even though it seemed she was having a lot of fun by herself, she seemed to fit the surroundings perfectly as if she had always belonged to this place. As he stared at her as if in a trance, the girl turned around and their two sets of eyes locked on to each other. Except, Hideki immediately lowered his gaze, embarrassed. Oh god, I hope I wasn't looking at her weird. But when Hideki raised his gaze, he saw that the girl had also moved her gaze away and was looking the other way with an equally embarrassed look on her face. Just when Hideki was going to try and see if he could talk to her though, she started walking off. "W-wait! Don't go, I'm sorry if I creeped you out!" Hideki exclaimed as he tried to catch up with her, except he nearly crashed into her as she whipped around and stared him straight in the face. "You do realize that you kind of look like a pervert staring at me like that." The girl said bluntly, with a slight tint of pink in her cheeks, and Hideki couldn't help but blush more. "I-I'm sorry...it was just that you seemed like you having a lot of fun and I didn't want to interrupt..." "Well you saw nothing." But Hideki managed to grab a hold of wrist before she could walk off again, even if it did surprise him as well as her. "D-Don't go yet! Uh, I'm Nakamura Hideki...this is my first time to this place, so I was just looking around." The girl just looked at him with a harsh gaze as she sized him up from head to toe. "Kurosu Lilith." were the only two words she replied with. "Oh, then hello Lilith. Uhm, are you a villager here?" Hideki asked curiously, but was given a horrified look in return. "Hell no! But dude, can you please let me go? I kind of want to go home and eat." And immediately, Hideki let go of Lilith's wrist, becoming more embarrassed by the second, but thankfully, Lilith didn't run off right after he released her because honestly, Hideki wanted to talk with her more. "S-sorry! Oh, well...I guess I might see you around later maybe?" Hideki questioned, almost expecting her to agree. Instead, Lilith just shrugged her shoulders, and started walking off, but not without turning around once more stating, "By the way, if no one has told you before, you should really stop saying sorry, it's annoying." And with that, Hideki could only look at Lilith's fading figure against the sunset and ever-changing waters of the ocean. As she slowly began to disappear from his sight, Hideki couldn't help but feel a spark of hope in this barren village. Maybe there was something here for him after all. It also seemed as if Hideki owed his cousin that mention of thanks after all. -------- AUTHOR'S NOTES: So yeah, this is my first actual completed-ish attempt at fanfiction! A lot of the things I write end up just end up rotting in my drafts lmao...BUT I HOPE I DIDN'T BUTCHER THEIR PERSONALITIES TOO MUCH. I'm still not that familiar with a lot of the pairings, so I'm doing my best to fix that ;~; Lol, these two seemed to be the easiest for me to write for, and besides, the idea seemed pretty good in my head... Oh yeah, and you'll have to wait a while before I post the next part GOOD NIGHT, SLEEP TIGHT. DON'T LET THE BED BUGS BITE. |
