[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=width,450,true] I'm feeling like a lost little boy in a brand new town I'm counting my sheep and each one that passes is another dream to ashes and they all fall down, As I lay me down tonight, I close my eyes and what a beautiful sight, I'm sleeping to dream about you, I'm so tired of having to live without you sleeping to dream OOC: so this is my first fic so don't punch me or anything. i've been meaning to write this for a while and here it is! tell me what you think. *U* ___________________________________________________________________________ A tiny whine rang into the blonde’s ears tearing her away from her slumber. It was a soft mutter, something that she would normally brush off months ago, but it was different now. Barely opening her heavy eyes she shifted around under the covers only to have a familiar grip tighten around her waist. Her hazy gaze slowly looking at the red lights of the digital clock; it was five in the morning. “He’s awake.” Yanmei muttered over her shoulder only to hear her partner let out a grunt. She wanted to get up but her cozy bed was stopping her from doing so along with her husband’s grip that eventually prevented her from moving at all. “You’re spoiling him. Let him cry.” grumbled into her ear only to cause Yanmei to roll her eyes. Another whimper traveled to the mother’s ears, “That isn’t going to make him ‘manly’ Eli.” she reported grabbing onto his arm unhooking it from her waist. It was a normal for the two to have this small disagreement every time when their little boy woke up from his dreamland. Eli claimed that if Reo (the name of their child) cried enough he would eventually stop and fall back asleep. Yanmei would disagree and do what any other mother would do, and that was to check up on her precious baby. Pulling the blankets off of her the mother sat up in the large bed stretching her long arms into the air. “You’re getting him the next time he wakes up.” she claimed before leaving to tend to her son’s needs. The cries grew louder as Yanmei reached Reo’s dimly lit room that was decorated with light blue stuffed animals and play toys tucked neatly away. With the door already open the mother casually walked over towards the crib reaching down to gently pick up her three month old child. “Don’t cry, mommy’s here.” Yanmei cooed allowing Reo to rest his head on her shoulder; soothingly Yanmei stroked the back of his tiny fame rocking side to side. His cries soon died into small hiccups as his petite hands gripped tightly onto her t-shirt sniffing here and there. “Hm, are you hungry?” she softly asked the little bundle raising a brow. Not expecting much of an answer she held Reo close and the two made their way towards the kitchen. He squirmed around, fighting to lift his head to look around. Yanmei only kept his head steady as her eyes glanced over at Reo in amusement. He was so curious to look at everything it always made her smile like an idiot. Everything Reo did made her smile; except for crying. Reaching the kitchen she rummaged through the cabinets with her free hand grabbing an empty bottle filling it with baby formula and water. “You’re father said I’m spoiling you.” it took a moment to tighten the bottle top seeing that her arms were already full to make sure that. Yanmei huffed giving the bottle a shake so the contents would mix together. She wasn’t spoiling him; Yanmei just did what came natural when being around her little man. “I’m not spoiling you.” was all she mumbled before placing the bottle in the microwave to warm it only slightly. Reo didn’t say anything; he only cooed still attempting to see where they had traveled to. The microwave beeped and Yanmei took out the bottle dropping some of the milk on the back of her palm to make sure it wasn’t too hot. “I’m wondering if you only woke me up to hear me ramble on about nothing.” the mother mused before walking into the living room to sit on the couch. Crossing her legs she sat back into the sofa cradling Reo being sure that the two were comfortable enough. Once his bright blue eyes noticed the bottle in her hand he began to squirm around instantly, his coo’s turning into whimpers practically begging for the food. Yanmei just laughed quietly popping the bottle into his mouth so he could finally settle down. Just like any other hungry child, Reo grew silent and drank out of the bottle as if it were to disappear at any moment. “You eat just like him.” she commented, of course talking about her husband. It still amazed her how quickly the two ate. Eyes traveling over towards the windows she narrowed her eyes. It was so early that you could tell that the sun would be up soon. Yanmei returned her attention towards Reo noticing that he was staring at her attentively wondering what was going through his mother’s mind. With a sweet smile Yanmei pressed her lips delicately on his forehead. After giving Reo a kiss she sat up straight looking down at him, “Even if you eat like a pig I still love you.” she teased watching his eyes slowly droop down only to completely open fighting off the sleep. “I guess I still love your father too; even if he eats like a pig.” the last part she only looked off shaking her head with an amused smirk. “Why are you talking to yourself?” turning her head towards the direction of the voice she looked at the figure that stood in the walkway. “I wasn’t talking to myself, me and Reo are having a conversation.” she replied to Eli before glancing down at the three month old to see if he had fallen asleep yet. Eyes still drooping his continued to drink out of the bottle even if he was drifting back into slumber. As always, once he fell asleep she took the unfinished bottle out of his mouth and placed it on coffee table that was in front of them. While carefully letting Reo lay on her chest she lightly began to pat his back, “I’m not spoiling him.” she declared turning her attention back to her husband that was now lounging at the opposite end of the sofa. “Yeah you are.” “Whatever, you’re just jealous that I pay attention to him more.” she said in a matter-of-fact tone while Eli only scrunched his eyebrows together with irritation. “What were you blabberin’ about?” he asked yet another question attempting to move the conversation along. Yanmei shrugged her shoulders hearing a tiny burp leave Reo’s lips, causing her to stop patting him on the back. Adjusting herself on the couch she closed her eyes, “I was talking about how you two eat like pigs.” with a smile she stood up from the couch taking a step towards Eli and sat right back down, taking what little room was left on the couch near him. He scoffed at her reply reaching to take Reo away from her arms. “I guess it’s a guy thing?” she raised a brow at Eli expecting for him to say something. With no reply she only sighed looking off for a moment running her fingers through her tangled hair. “He didn’t finish his bottle so he’ll wake up again. But you already know that.” Yanmei turned back to her partner leaning over to place a kiss on his lips, he of course returned the kiss; he better have. “Don’t starve him to try and make him ‘manly’ or I’ll punch you in the throat.” she muttered against his lips before pulling away. With that comment she stood up and made her way back towards their bedroom to get some rest herself. It was just another night that consisted of a attention seeking son and two parents that seemed as if they would never see eye to eye. That was something that Yanmei had no problem dealing with. She didn't say it often but she was happy and wouldn't change it for anything in the world. made by zingarasaur of OTE |
