Vivienne had walked home many times before by herself, but since it had been getting dark recently in the early hours of the evening the offer for a ride home in his car had come up again. Katsumi Takeda never seemed very happy that his vice president was walking the streets of Tokyo alone at night, though in Vivienne's opinion, he never really seemed happy about much. So once they had finished the activities they had parted at the gate, leaving him to wait for the black Rolls Royce which was sent to collect him everyday, Vivienne beginning the usual journey home. And all had been going great, until she got to the alleyway coming up to her house ... and then she could have sworn she heard footsteps behind her. Her knuckles were white from clinging to her bag for comfort, seeking solace in the fact that every step she took would be one closer to the end of the alleyway. But the footsteps kept coming ... but they weren't intimidating. It wasn't like they were coming for her ... more like following her, though she noticed that when she stopped so did her follower. In fact she was paying so much attention to the figure from behind she hadn't exactly looking where she was going, missing the pile of debris and lurching forward when her foot got tangled in it, closing her eyes and getting ready for the embrace of the ground. Only it never happened. Vivienne opened her eyes to find an arm wrapped round her waist, suspending her above the ground, the same arm was clothed in the coat she had seen her president wearing earlier. "I-I'm sorry Katsumi!" the girl cried out as the fellow third year helped her back onto her feet, his face still in the same expression it had been in when she had left him by the gate. Katsumi offered her no words, just that same look of complete disapproval that he showed her often. Vivienne had grown so used to that becoming the stare that would greet her when she told him she'd done something wrong, or that she didn't think some of her work was quite right. However next thing she knew he was pulling her along, trying to get the her out of there as fast as he could, only muttering something to himself about how this was the reason he had asked her in the first place. The conversation was silent for a few minutes before Katsumi offered her his reason for being there. "My car was late ... I thought I'd walk with you for a bit" he muttered with a scowl, refusing to make eye contact with her as he walked. A small smile formed on her face as she shifted her bag onto her shoulder, her gaze still remaining on his stubborn scowl. They both knew that wasn't the reason as to why he was there, but neither of them would make any attempt to speak about it. After all, to do so would probably crush his pride and she didn't want to do that. The conversation remained quiet for a few minutes as they approached the end of the alleyway until the question arose that she had been wanting to ask him for a long time. "... Do you ever smile Katsumi? she muttered, looking up at his face, trying to read it for a reaction. His face stayed mostly in the same position, she would have noted if it wasn't for the flicker of surprise in his eyes. It wasn't till they got into the light of the main street he had come up with the reply "If something gives me a good enough reason to" However the moment they stood there, a black car immediately pulled up, the driver yelling at 'Takeda-sama' that 'it wasn't safe to get out of the car whilst it was moving, even if it was slowing down for traffic lights'. The president's grip tightened on her wrist as he spoke clearly "I never did such a thing. If you'll remember correctly, you never came to pick me up on time, something which I'm very tempted to tell my father about. Honestly why would I do something as stupid as getting out of a moving vehicle?" The man glanced at Katsumi before back at the woman he was with before nodding "My mistake Takeda-sama. My apologizes" His purple eyes then found their gazed on Vivienne, the small hair pieces he wore brushing against his skin as he looked down on her before muttering "My offer still stands, if you wish for a ride the rest of the way-" "It's okay Katsumi, my apartment is only over there" Vivienne replied, motioning behind her "You should go! You're probably late getting home because of me!" The blonde reluctantly looked over at the car, before nodding, muttering "Please don't go down anymore alleys, I'd quite like to see you at school tomorrow" before making his way over to his car, the driver coming round to open the door as he dejectedly climbed in the back seat. Vivienne offered a small wave as the car drove away ... just wondering how more odd he could be, and how he had a funny way of showing he cared. And maybe one day, she might just be able to get him to smile. [/style] |
