She checked her phone and then at the clock in her house. No, this was the right time so where was he? As much as she hated pirate, he was never late. He was punctual after all, if anyone was late it was her, fashionably of course. She sighed, maybe the host club was keeping him busy. Yeah that might be it. Just in case she decided to text him. "What is taking you so long pirate?" and with that she waited to see what he had to say. Yet he didn't reply...she waited and waited but he didn't reply. What was taking him so long? She stared at the text book in front of her, she should be studying right now but he wasn't here to help her. She didn't get the stupid math problems! She glared at it venomously before opening it up. Yeah she didn't get it at all. She waited for another hour before texting him again. "Oy your stupid fangirls can take that long right? If you even have any." She laid on her bed and waited for him but again he didn't text her. Something was wrong...she had that feeling, not that she was worried about him. She just needed him to tutor her. Angry she decided to do the one thing she hated the most...calling.
And so she waited for the rings. He would pick up right? That pirate bastard better pick up or she was going to kill him!
Ring...ring....ring...
The beeping tone of the phone rang and each and every one of it felt like an eternity for the hostess. That was until she heard his voice.
“Looks like I missed your call. just leave a message and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.”
THAT BASTARD! Emi gritted her teeth together "Look pirate you were suppose to tutor me today but you stood me up! That is it! You better not be coming to school tomorrow because if I see you after I fail the test I will kill you! You hear me? So don't you dare run into me anywhere!" she cried out into the phone before ending the call. Hmph, fine she didn't need him. She can so do this all by herself. She did it before...even though she didn't pay attention. Oh well, if worse comes to worst she would just go ahead and copy. Yeah. She grinned to herself at that.
The next day she didn't see him at all. He never called her back or even texted her. Did he lost his phone or something? She didn't really know. Wait, why she was she thinking about this? She had a test to take. After all she has to stay in the hostess club no matter what. And so she walked into her classroom. In the end she was caught cheating...even though she had been so careful. Stupid math teacher, she bet he must had been watching her because she saw other people cheat as well and they got away with it! Of course as much as the teacher was to be blamed there was another person as well. Yes a certain stupid one eyed host. At lunch she had stomped to the host club only to see that it was closed. Eh? Closed? Why? It wasn't like today was special or anything. Were there too many sick? No she saw Chase today and he seemed fine. Besides it wasn't flue season or anything either. Hmmm...maybe he was hiding from her. Well she was going to hunt him down then!
Quickly Emi rushed over to his classroom ready to throw him out the window or flip his desk over or something. Yet as she opened the door she saw flowers on his desk. All she could do was stand there and stare. What...was this? She heard some mummers but it was hard to distinguish. That is except for one line.
"Tsukami Yoite died."
What? He...he can't die! The next thing she knew she had ran out of the classroom. She could had sworn she heard Toshiko and Aya crying out to her but she ignored it. She didn't bother to show up for the rest of class but no one questioned it. She usually ditches class after all. [/style] |

| [atrb=style, opacity: 0.8; margin-bottom: -10px;][STYLE= font: 7pt verdana; width: 300px; line-height: 11px; padding: 5px 5px 5px 25px; text-align: justify; color: black; border-left: 2px solid #5D005D; margin-left: 40px;]It's been a month since his death and life has passed by like a blur. She had done her best to continue her life normally. She went to parties, she drank alcohol, she smoked, she failed her tests, she hosted, she did everything she could. She did everything that she did before she met him. She barely knew him after all, she only knew him for two years actually. So she could continue on. The school had slowly moved on, he was just one student, they had gotten a new host even. Instead of the prince type though he was the knight type. Naturally she hated him, he was a host, why wouldn't she? That was all. She barely ever enter the host club, if she wanted to talk to Chase she bothered him outside of school or on the phone. Especially after the time where she saw that Pirate's old clients walking up to that new host. It disgusted her, how they moved on. How they had stated they loved him forever and ever and yet they move on so why can't she? Why does she still think about him? Why does she still continue her stupid ritual for a month? A secret ritual that only she knew about. Why was it that she couldn't go back to normal? Why was it that she was haunted by him? It was like everyone had moved on but her. At that time she had even cried out "Why the hell are you over this guy! He's nothing like the Pirate at all you whores!" After that...she couldn't show her face in there.
Even the school had tried to get her other tutors but she refused all of them. None of them were him, they weren't even remotely like him. It disgusted her..the idea of easily replacing him.
She remembered seeing a guy that looked so much like him. She had seen him from the back and had thought it was him. She had been stupid enough to run over to him and grabbed him by the hand. "Pirate!" she shouted out but when he turned around she realized it wasn't him. He had a lone red eye and even more was that the eye patch he wore wasn't the same one. It wasn't the same one at all! Before he could say anything she had walked away her face hot from embarrassment. So hot that she felt tears although she didn't let them fall. She would never cry for that bastard.
That had not been the only incident. No, there was more. Once in the hostess club a guy had tried to kiss her. It was natural and she had playfully kissed many of her clients. So she was prepared to kiss him but then stopped placing her hand in front of her face. The client and the hostess were both in shock. She had no idea what she was doing. Luckily for her he was the last client and his time was up. She had never been so glad before.
Although what's worse was the fact that there were people who tried to figure out what was wrong with her. Aya had took her shopping many times to cheer her up. Toshiko had went over to her house for the two to play games together. Michio took her to so many dance clubs. She had even tried to cheer herself up but she couldn't. She had gotten herself drunk even or at least once. When she was drunk she thought of him and it was painful...she decided to never drink enough to get drunk again. She would still drink though because that was her, she had to pretend like nothing happened, like he didn't affect her.
And then when she came home, she would walk to her room and call his cellphone. She knew no one would pick up or if someone did it wouldn't be him.
'Ring...ring...ring'
One of the reasons why she prefer texting over calling, the waiting tone always felt too long. Eventually though she heard his voice.
“Looks like I missed your call. just leave a message and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.”
Liar....he didn't respond to her last one or any of the other ones. "I hate you." she spoke into the phone. "I'm just calling to tell you that. I hate you so much but I'm not the only one who does! The school replaced you even! They got a new host and even tried to get me a new tutor. So....so stop it! Stop being here and leave already!" and with that she ended the call. Yes it was her daily ritual, even though he wouldn't pick up...even though he wouldn't get back to her...she still called him and she hated it. Why? Why couldn't she just move on?
The next day Emi called him again and same with the next and the next. The topic would change but each and every of her greeting started with "I hate you." Because she hated him. She hated his stupid arrogance. She hated how he calls her Gorilla. She hated his smirk. She hated everything about him but most of all, she hated how he wouldn't leave her alone. It was one for another month and it continued. That was until one night she had a dream.
She was sitting under a tree all alone. She suppose it must be class time or something. Yet she didn't have a cigarette in her hand, no she had nothing. She just sat and hugged her knees not even leaning on the tree. Suddenly though she felt someone's back against her. She was about to turn around to tell the person to go away but at the slightest movement of her heard she heard a familiar voice.
"Don't turn around." The person ordered her quickly.
"P-P-Pirate?" she asked halting and quickly looking away. She didn't want to see him. So why was he here? Why did he always find her when she ditches class? "What are you doing here?"
"How the hell am I suppose to know?" The male asked back. "More importantly what the hell are you doing? I thought you were better than that."
"I am better! Wait...what do you even mean?"
"I meant what you've been doing to yourself. Going to those stupid parties, drinking, smoking. Okay so you always do that Gorilla but you look happy. Now you're just forcing yourself. I don't get it at all."
"Of course you don't!" she cried out. "No one does! They all moved on. Your stupid fangirls got a new host. There is some stupid bastard sitting on your desk and the school tried to get so many people to be my tutor. Everyone has moved one but me and I hate it! Why won't you leave me alone?"
"What the hell are you talking about? I'm not some stalker of yours. You always follow me that's how we always bump into each other. It's so disgusting. I can't believe you're thinking about me that I'm even in this stupid dream of yours." he pointed out.
"No! You just won't leave me alone! Always being in my stupid thoughts! I hate you! I hate you! I hate you so much!"
"Well the feeling is mutual Gorilla! Hmph how annoying...say I just realized. I'm losing to you by one point aren't I?"
"Huh?"
"In our competitions. That's it lets play a game and make a bet then."
"Why? Like it would matter...you're....gone anyway."
"Tch." he scoffed. "I didn't know you were such a coward. Pathetic."
"I am not a coward! Fine you're on!" she shot back.
"Okay then. Lets play hide and seek. You seek and I hide. I'll give you a whole hour to find me. If you can't then I win and you have to do anything I want. If you find me then you win and I'll do whatever you want. Just don't have any sick fantasies of me okay?"
"Like I would. And fine!" With that she closed her eyes and counted to sixty. She felt him leave her and for a moment had wanted to each out to grab him but resisted. She had a game to think about. Once she had finished counting Emi ran around the school. She ran to the drama club, the gym, his classroom, her classroom, the host club, the hostess club, she ran to so many rooms. No she was sure she had checked everywhere except for the rooftop. She took out her phone. She had ten minutes left. Determined to win the hostess bolted up the stairs and barged open the door. "Fou-" she cut herself short when she realized there was no figure there. "Pirate?" she asked? "Pirate! Pirate! Where are you?"
Where was he? Was he gone again? No...he can't be. She had to win...so he can't be gone. He has to be here somewhere but where? She felt tears coming up again...where was he? "Come out pirate...you're here aren't you? Pirate...Pirate....whe-where are you?" And soon the alarm on her phone rang signaling that her time was up.
"Looks like you lost Gorilla." came a voice from behind her. Just when she was about to turn around though she was stopped as the person behind her wrapped his arms around her.
"Whe-Where were you Pirate!?" she cried out wiping her tears.
"Idiot. I was behind you the whole time." he told her and she can feel him rolling his lone eye. "Whatever. You lost so I guess that brings us a a tie for win and losses. More importantly though you have to do whatever I want."
"You don't have to tell me. So what is it? Be your servant? Dress up like a Gorilla? Call you by your so-called name? Not ch- before she can finish his voice cut her off.
"Move on."
The two words she dreaded because she didn't want to. If she moved on then who would remember him/ If she moved on then she would be like everyone else. She couldn't move on...she couldn't replace him like how everyone else did. She was incapable of that...she just...she shook her head. "D-Don't....Don't make me do that." she quietly pleaded with him like some child.
"You lost Gorilla. You have to do as I say." he replied not letting her get out of the bet.
"Don't Pirate. I'll do anything else. I'll study! I'll not cheat and get an A on the next test. I'll quit the hostess club. I'll call you by your name. I'll promote the host club? I'll promote you. I'll be nice to that stupid blond friend of yours but please...don't! Don't make me..." she couldn't even finish it and she felt herself crying. Don't torture her like this.
As if reading her mind she felt him smirk. "But I like torturing you Gorilla. It's quite a good hobby." he told her.
"I HATE YOU!" she cried out tears coming out. "I hate you! I hate you! I hate you! Why? Why do you always do this to me? Why? Why? Why? she cried out getting away from his arms to turn around her eyes shut as she yelled. She didn't want to see his reaction to her like this. She always yelled at him, it was natural, she hated him but never like this. "Why? Why do I have to be in love with you? I hate you! I hate you so much! You stupid...baka! Baka baka baka!" And it was only after she was done she opened her eyes to see him. To see Yoite staring back at her with his one lone eye. There was no smirk from getting her angry. There was no shock at her she aid. There was only the usual apathetic face but yet his lone eye...it had a hint of sadness. Quickly though he put on the smirk but she can tell it was forced and hated herself for it.
"Ha. Too bad I don't do bestiality Gorilla." he told her. "Now go wake up an-" This time she had cut him off by running up and pushing her lip against his. Emi didn't know what has gotten over her but she did it anyway. She closed her eyes not wanting to see his reaction but she felt him kissing her back. Then their lips parted and she clung onto his shirt. "I....I...." the words she wanted to say. This was her only chance. "Pi-Pi-Pi-Yoite! I...I love you!" she cried out burying her head in his chest.
There was a small moment of silence when the third year did nothing. He had just stood there. "E-I...I hate you Gorilla."
A small gasp parted from her lip before she looked up at him. That was when she understood. Even though he tried to glare at her his eye was soft. Even though he tried to remain apathetic there was a hint of sadness. Yes she understood why. If he had told her and call her by her name she would not be able to move on. If he had returned her feelings she would forever think of him. It would continue to torture her and as much of a sadistic bastard, she knew Tsukami Yoite wuld not do that. Slowly though she started to feel him dissipating. "Wait! Yoite!" she cried out still wanting him here. "Stay! I need you! Don't leave!"
The male gave a small shrug and a smirk but this one was not the condescending one she knew. It was a different one. It was much more gentle. "Come on Gorilla, you lived without me before and you can do it again." he told her. "Just....ummm....promise me one thing." he started scratching the back of his head nervously. "Don't for-....Don't forget that I am and will always be better than you."
"I won't forget you." she told him with a small smile. "I won't forget how much you lose to me."
"Tch stupid Gorilla." And with that he left with no goodbyes. Then again when did he ever say goodbye to her? Because she knew...that guy was never good at parting words. He always just leaves her just like how he always did. The only difference is that he won't come back.
When she woke up the hostess dialed his number memorizing it perfectly now.
'Ring...ring....ring..."
"Hello?" came a voice on the other line.
"Yoi-Yoi-Yoite! I mean Pirate! Is that you?"
"I'm sorry...I think you have the wrong number?"
Emi blinked before looking at her phone, 763-304-7364, no that was his number alright. Still she shook her head. "Oh...yeah...sorry." and with that she ended the call. He didn't pick up...he had no voice messages. His number was given to someone else.
"...I...guess it's time to move on." The two words she dreaded parted from her lips. [/style] |
