I didn't know then it would hurt like this but I think The older I get Maybe I'll get over it It's been way too long for the times we missed I can't believe it still hurts like this Shinkuto walked down the hallway late after school after he had finished his word as the student council president. There was simply way too much to do, and he had to do some of the work for others, the ones he question in how they had even gotten into the school let alone the student council. To say that it was an annoyance would had been quite the understatement as really, he wanted them expelled or something. It also didn't help that Ai had decided to play a little prank on him which only caused a mess and so he had to stay later than usual. He looked outside for a moment hoping that it would calm him down. From the fields he can see some of the sports club still out there. He can see Clare running on the track and some of the kendo members leaving. Although what caught his eyes was the archery club that seems to have just finished up as well. He suppose he could go ahead and walk her home. Just to make sure nothing bad happens to her, not that he didn't think she couldn't defend herself but it was simply precautions. As a future politician, he was one that would rather be safe than sorry unlike a certain idiot. He headed down rather quickly but still walking since he wouldn't want to look like he was in some sort of rush nor did he wish to get sweaty in the summer heat. That would had been rather disgusting. Yet at the same time he did not wish to miss the girl. He didn't want to call her out either since well, he wasn't really one to raise his voice above room level. Lucky for him when he exited, he was able to quickly spot out the girl because of the purple hair. He walked over and called out to her "Miyuki, are you walking home alone?" Where was Yoite? Oh yeah, he was probably still busy with the host club so he couldn't really walk the girl home. She turned over to him and gave him a small friendly smile. "Yeah. What about you?" she asked looking around for a moment. "What happened to Hikari-san?" Hikari Tetsumi, she was one of his classmates who he had decided to date. Not because he liked her. Shinkuto was incapable of such emotions. Besides, love wasn't something needed in the game of politics anyway. No, the reason why he dated her was because she was a daughter of a politician and therefore he can have some connections through her. Although he had yet to evaluate if the connections were good or bad yet as he hasn't met her parents. They have only dated for a week and so it was just a bit too soon. "I told her I would be late so she left before me." he answered. The girl stared at him for a moment with a small pout on her lips. "Shinkuto if you're going to date her, you shouldn't put work before her. I mean, don't you want to spend time with her?" she scolded him. The male looked away for a bit. She was being motherly again...which did give him some comfort her suppose as he was used to it from her. Still, he didn't really care for his date let alone actually putting work before that girl. I'll keep that in mind." he replied back while in the back of his mind he tried to think of a way to take control of the situation. From the corner of his eyes he can see her staring at him for a moment before sighing as if she knew that he wasn't really listening. Well actually, chances are she probably did. "Anyway since we're both alone how about we walk home together?" she offered. Inwardly he sighed in relief since that was what he wanted to say but well...she kind of took control of the situation and he has yet to make an excuse on why they should walk home together as well. "I suppose we should." he replied slowly which only made the Tsukami's smile widen. "So when are you going to go on another date with Hikari-san?" she asked. That wasn't really a conversation the president wanted. Still he couldn't refuse to answer her. She had some of her mother's abilities after all. "This weekend." he answered. To be more exact on Sunday, they planned to go to the park and get to know each other more even if he could hardly care about the girl. It bothered him though whenever she asked about his dates. Not that he had problem talking about who he was currently dating. He would be able to do that with ease but around her he couldn't help but wonder. Did she care or was she just trying to make some conversation? In the back of his mind, the memory plagued Shinkuto. On how he realized that he can't really be with her. He was a politician and she was a daughter of a yakuza. It would cause problems even if the girl wanted to separate herself from it. As usual, he put work before others. When he was young he had declared that one day he would marry her, possibly because he was annoyed on how someone like Yoite could get a fiance while he didn't or maybe he really did like her. He was just a kid, as if he would know any better right? At least that was what he figured anyway and when he grew up he realized they couldn't be together. He couldn't fulfill that childish promise and told her so. That it was something childish and well, he didn't want her to wait for him. When he told her, she didn't cry. She didn't get mad, she didn't look sad, she didn't yell at him, she didn't run away. If she had done that he probably wouldn't had felt as bad. If she had done that, it wouldn't had affected him so. No, instead she had smiled and nodded saying "I understand." As if she wasn't affected at her. He knew the girl was mature...but to accept it to easily. He was actually speechless and had just nodded. Then when he got his first girlfriend, she congratulated him and never showed any signs of jealousy. Why? Did she not care? Did she not have feelings for him? Or maybe...she really did think it was because if was some childish promise. "Really? Where are you taking her?" she asked piercing his thoughts. "The park." he answered numbly. Really, only reason why he chose the park was because they didn't have to do much there but sit and talk. They continued onto other topics such as the student council, the archery club, how school was, how Momoko has been and just about any topics they can think of really. "Ah this is my stop. I'll see you tomorrow Shinkuto." she waved before entering the house. The president watched her enter the house before walking back home. To be honest, he suppose he was lucky that she was unfazed...and yet as he reached into his pockets he can feel that ring from so long ago. Tch, just what was he thinking still keeping the thing. The smooth surface of the accessory rubbing against his fingers....he really should throw it away now but but well...he was never that good at letting things go. TAGS: something.
