Everything had happened for a reason. That was the one thing he thought of as the lights shined in his eyes, the sirens blared, almost too loud for his sensitive ears. His emerald eyes opened wide as he tried to piece together where he was, who was there with him. Voices could be heard, though he couldn't place where they were coming from. Someone shined a flashlight in his eyes, making him blind for just a moment. " …. Only fourteen years old. How do you suppose he'll cope with this news? " Were the only words he heard before everything went silent. The boy gasped, eyes widening once more as he attempted to figure out what was going on, why people were running around him… And where was his mother? She was just here. No, not here. They were headed to meet his father, her husband, and the rest of their family. He tried to call, reach out for anyone. But all hr got were concerned looks. He attempted to swing his legs over the edge of the bed (where had that bed come from?), but came to the conclusion that his right leg was tied down to the bed, preventing him from moving. " What did you do to me?! " He yelled at the people surrounding him in the small area they were cramped in. And before he could say anything more, everything went black, and his body fell.
His living nightmare turned into a peaceful drive. It went right back to where he left off, a few hours back. As far back as he could remember that day. His mother, with her gorgeous emerald eyes and always smiling face. She was his knight in shining armor, the woman he depended on and always prayed she would be there. The woman that said it was okay for him to like his own gender, and as she always said, " It's not about the outside, and it's about the inside " Wise words from a wise woman. " Kazu, sweetheart? The car's leaving for us. Come on before we leave without you! " His mother called from the car door she was standing behind, waving towards her youngest son. He grinned at her, before giving the last rose to the maid he had been talking to, skipping down the stairs. He grabbed the soccer ball on the way down, kicking towards the butler that was standing beside the door, grinning as he easily caught it. " Nice catch, Samuel. It almost hit you that time, though " Kazuma said as he grabbed the ball back from the butler, jumping into the car and sitting to the far window, all the while kicking his ball towards the front of the car. At least until his mother slid into the car, giving him a look, though not a severe as what his father might give him.
" Now, you know why we're going back, right? Ryn's graduation from college. We're having his party here once he returns from Japan with Mizuki. " His mother said as she straightened out her dress and signaled to the driver to start out. Kazuma's eyes glanced out the window, then back towards his mother. " We're moving to Japan, aren't we Mother? " He young teenager asked his mother, tilting his head towards her as she nodded her head. They only stayed in England for his education, his parents had told them. Once they hit high school, all four of his older siblings had attended Ouran Academy, where his siblings had stayed with some relatives, while Kazuma, he would be able to live with his parents, especially his mother. He grinned over at her, excitement coursing through him at the thought of going back to Japan. Though he loved England, Japan had always been his favorite place, from the culture to the cherry blossom trees. He closed his eyes, for just a moment, but that was all that was needed.
A moment to shatter it all. Eyes shot back open as a crushing sound was heard, the sound of metal breaking. His wide eyes turned towards his mother, who was staring straight ahead with a blank expression. He would realize a few moments later that a piece of metal from the back of the car had ripped it's way through the back, killing her instantly. The young teenager crawled up to the front of the car, panic on his features as he tried to wake up the driver, eyes finally seeing the carnage up ahead. But it wasn't the way they had been heading. The car behind that smashed into there's hard enough to spin it around, to face the opposite way. Kazuma turned his gaze around, barely missing the second car to come barreling down, clipping the car that had crashed into theirs, and hitting the side of the vehicle he was it. He fell hard against the side of the car, his leg bending and snapping a hollow snap. It was then that he blacked out once more, everything first bright, then black once more.
The next thing he remembered was waking in the hospital, flowers around his room. His upper body was elevated, but it was his leg that had his attention. Wrapped in plaster, all the way up to his thigh. He winced, crying out for his mother, but she never came. His father, siblings all came. Even his grandparents did. He assumed the worst by the time his father uttered the words, " Killed on impact ". He couldn't look at anyone the same way, his eyes closing out the world. Because the one person he was close to, that knew him inside and out, was gone now. So why was he still there? Was there was really something planned for him? He didn't believe in God, the way the rest of his family did. But he had a feeling there was something out there for him. Right now, though, was the start of the healing process, not only physical, but mental. For Kazuma Murai would never be the same, happy child he once was. And thus, the healing began.
