He had made sure to leave some clues for the girl. It shouldn't be hard, he was pretty much doing an imitation crime of a case they had done together once after all. He even gave her some handicaps, with one of it being the fact that the person who was going to die was to die int he same warehouse as his kid. Mismatched eyes turned over to the man with a smile. He looked so scared. A part of him almost wanted to tell the man not to fret because he wont' feel fear anymore soon but he doubt that would calm him down. Probably do opposite. He took out his phone and checked the time. The riddle he gave her should had told her the kill would be a minute from now. However, he decided to wait only for thirty seconds before pulling the trigger. "Say hello to your kid for me." he chimed as the boy fell down to the ground. It didn't take long for him to hear a set of rushed footsteps and such a familiar voice. "You have the rights to remain silent any-" she cut herself off when she recognized that it was him. Of course he had already knew that it was her. He planned for it after all. However he decided to play the fool just to test her reaction to it. "I know you don't I?" he asked tilting her head as if he was trying to figure out who she was. He noted that despite the fact that it has been three years, she hasn't changed that much. Her hair still long and her clothes still similar to what he remembered. However he noted a small hat on her head. Hmm, never thought she was a hat person. Probably a gift. From her brothers he was willing to further assume. "Ah, Sanada Rin-san correct?" he asked her even though he knew the answer. He watched as she pointed a gun at him. In the back of his mind, he wondered if she had ever pulled a trigger in her life before. He doubt it, the idea of killing was usually far too much for a human after all. "Do not move or I will shoot you." she told him. Again he wondered if she has ever pulled the trigger before. "Fine, I won't move a single step." came his playful reply. "Moving is not just walking." "Oh? How restricting of you. If we go that way, then you would have shot me already. After all my heart is moving. Breathing makes me move as well. Sanada-san, do you want me dead?" he asked still keeping up with his playful tone. "Although I must say you looked quite surprised earlier." "That's because I didn't think Dasoku-kun would be caught so easily." he watched her fingers fiddling with the communicator in her other hand. If only she knew that this was all on purpose. Hmm, what would her reaction be if she knew the truth? Better yet, why wasn't she being extra careful if she didn't think such a situation would arise? What a careless girl. He had thought he trained her better but apparently he didn't. Oh well, that was a good thing he suppose. He quickly put a bullet through her communicator. "Sorry, finger slipped." he smiled only to see her pull out another one. Wow, how prepared. "It's okay. I have another one. Unless your finger will slip on that too." She didn't sound amused at all. What a serious girl. "No. If it slips, it would be on your heart." he told her or more of threatened. However the polite tone never once left. It was always present. The man watched as she tightened her grip on the communicator only to throw it at him. Naturally he had ducked only to hear rushed footsteps. He managed to pull up his gun to shoot but it only scrapped on the side. Instantly he found himself on the ground and her on top of him. However fear never once rose to his face despite the fact that he was frantically looking for options in the back of his mind. "After what you made me empty...after leaving me. Now I can end it. I just have to shoot." "You know Sanada-san. Out of the many police out there. Only a few have actually pulled the trigger." he told her. "Have you ever done it." "I'm not scared to pull it." Yes she was. If she wasn't, the she would had killed the man already. However he merely smirked. "Didn't your brother got hurt in a gunshot once?" he asked her. It was years ago when it happened but for someone like her, it must had still been fresh. When he saw herself momentarily distracted, he quickly flipped her over and took out his knife. "If you are going to shoot. You should just shoot." he told her airily before moving to her finger and breaking one of it just to see if she would scream. Much to his disappointment, he didn't. A girl that wouldn't scream? "Doesn't it hurt?" he asked her. "Not as much as you think." He highly doubted that. "That's because you don't have a reason to live." Ren told her. She didn't yearn for life. He can tell. What a strange existence but that was his existence one upon a time. He didn't care about life either. "So, lets find a reason to make you want to live. Friends? Lover? Your brothers? Pet cat?" The last one was a small joke really. "I had a man I once lived for." Oh? "He was paranoid. He always wore gloves. He has red and blue eyes. He likes to lie...a lot." "Sounds like a demon." the man interjected. "I suppose. But to me he was more like a child. He really loved chocolate." "And you left him." he told her with a small smirk. He remembered how she left him. He had tried to forget it but it was rather hard to. Even though he avoided her, he was able to move on without her. It wasn't hard. He had lived without her before he met her after all. "I didn't leave him." she denied the accusation. Really now? "You shouldn't lie Sanada-san." Even he can admit when he leaves someone. It wasn't that hard. Humans just can't admit their sins can they? "I didn't leave him." A sigh parted from his lips. And she called him the child. "Hai hai. Whatever you say." he told her even though it was obvious that he didn't believer her at all. "But it's okay. Everyone got their happy ending. You get your brothers and I get to live the life that I love so much." "But I feel empty." "Sanada-san, you are only empty because your brother is not here." he replied to her. If they were here, would she be filled with fear? "You wouldn't understand about feeling empty. You were never full in the first place." "Ah. But that is where you are wrong. I may feel nothing but once upon a time. You almost made me feel. You could had changed me so much. It took me a year to fix all of the damages you've done to me Sanada-san." he told her. This didn't have to happen. A part of him felt that it was a shame that it did. "You could had been so much better. You could had been my assistant, my doll. I would had taken such good care of you." He wouldn't have let her be broken like this. "You know, I once wanted to die." he informed her just like the times where he would tell her cases he has been on. "So I know that look in your eyes. You want to be killed by me don't you? So then I would had at least looked your way. I would had seen you even if it was as a threat. It was better than nothing." There was a moment of silence before he heard the girl's voice once again. "Why?" "Why?" he echoed her with a small tilt to the head. "Why did you want to kill yourself?" Why? Because he hated the life he lived. Because he felt empty. Because he didn't see a point to it. It was mundane and torturous. Being surrounded by creatures he would never understand. "I didn't want to live. Tried it a couple of times in middle school but I couldn't kill myself. In high school I became involved in something thinking some outside force can kill me. After high school though..." It was after high school that he met those two. The two that told him to live. "I just gave up on that thought." he shrugged and for a moment he saw a smile on her lips. "I'm glad that I got to learn something about you." "Oh? Glad? Maybe you're not so broken after all." "You haven't changed." "Humans change but not demons. Now I'm tempted to bring your brothers here to watch you die. Or to kill them with you so that you won't be lonely." Demons can never change. Demons do not have potentials to change. "That's dangerous. They'll hurt you or their friends will find out." "Somehow I think I'll be fine with that." "Then...be careful." As if he needed her to tell him that. "I will." he assured her. "Sanada-san, I really did enjoy our time together." and with that he stabbed her throat for a quick death. He didn't want her to go in pain as he granted her wish. It only made sense. She had once been his. Shouldn't he be the one to kill her? "I really haven't changed though." he commented as he stood up and started to walk away. He didn't bother to clean up. Someone will find the crime scene. Make it look like an amateur had done it instead of Dasoku Ren. He looked up at the sky for a moment and smirked. Did she knew at the end? That he lied to her? That he wasn't going to kill her brothers? After all...he didn't want them to have her.[/style] |
